John Lennon's super fans

Yesterday was a big day for my parents. It's the death anniversary of their favorite singer John Lennon of the Beatles fame. He was shot to death on the 8 dec 1980 by a crackpot. According to mum she cried the whole day then, she was only in her early 20s. And they have been celebrating this particular  day since then. They'll both wear a John Lennon T-shirt, play his songs whole day & go take one of his favorite food which was vegetarian. They have been doing that since 1981. Incredible isn't right?

Another fun fact, my parents met when they were taking some course & during the break, someone was playing "Imagine" , one of John Lennon's biggest hit. Ever since that, "Imagine" has been their song. Sweet right?  Last month I bought 2 Lennon T-shirts online for the both of them, they were so happy. They wore them yesterday :)

That got me thinking. If my favorite singer were to be murdered or died will I mourn them & commemorate them the way my parents do with John Lennon? I doubt so! My buddy said we'll just move on to another singer , it's just more practical that way ...lol... really ? Or maybe we are not "real fans" to begin with. Or Perhaps they are just not as iconic as someone like John Lennon was. Whatever the reason, frankly we would be too busy goggling for something, watching YouTube or buying something online ....lol...

Bought 2 of these for my parents, they were so happy !!!
